permanent makeup conditions & contraindications

Medical Conditions

If any of these apply to you, you may not be a good candidate for permanent makeup.

Pregnant or nursing

At risk and sensitive due to change in hormones.

Hemophilia

High risk and on blood-thinning medications.

Body runs hot

Increased bleeding which prevents pigment deposit.

Thyroid condition taking medication for this condition

Hypo, Hyper-thyroidism, Graves Disease, Hashimoto’s, etc.

Auto Immune Disorder such as Lupus or Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia (MS, RA, Lupus or the like)

Due to the medicines to treat these diseases, the skin is altered and pigment will not retain. Also, the facial skin is not healthy and/or is bumpy, and the colour will not heal evenly.

Trichotillomania

Due to constant pulling of body hair, scar tissue is prominent and pigment will not heal evenly/properly.

A doctor’s note is required in order to perform the procedure. Permanent makeup is great for cancer survivors

Diabetes

It is important that the condition is stable and under control. In this case, the client should consult with their physician and provide a doctor’s note
